My biggest fear with this blog…

is that someone I respect will think it’s crap.

So when I read this post by Vern Gambetta I couldn’t help but think that he might be talking about me.  Now, this is not a post to get people to comment to say, “keep doing the site” – I’m going to keep it going, at least through the summer, and I’m going to make it better.  But I also want to encourage you to tell me where you disagree with me, or at the least ask me why I’m doing what I’m doing, like Frank58 did in this comment (click here).

This is a selfish request, but you will not only make me a better coach but you will likely prevent me from making mistakes with the athletes I work with.

Thanks for your time please don’t hesitate to comment on the upcoming content.

    Jay,

    I enjoy your humility.
When we begin to believe we are the foremost authority on any subject we need a sweet dose of humility to bring us back to earth. I spend a lot of my precious free time reading or witnessing video of training techniques, I have a voracious appetite for it, and have probably forgotten much more that I have retained. I love to share the info I take in, I just want to help others improve, coaches and athletes.

Vern is a foremost authority, he can be very critical in his blogs of others from time to time, it was refreshing to see him realize we never stop learning (unless you choose to) and we need to be a little more humble.
