I’m blessed to be the director of the Boulder Running Camps. Camp starts on Wednesday, so I’ve got camp on the brain with roughly 150 campers and 30 staff over two weeks.
The middle day of the five day camp is the big day, with a fartlek workout in the morning, a hike in the afternoon and skit night in the evening. I thought I would share some footage of the fartlek workout, which we do out at the Boulder Reservoir, a venue virtually all professional runners in Boulder use during the week as it’s the flattest place in town.
We have some great teams that come to camp, like the Strake Jesuit Boys from Houston, TX. This year they had 25 boys break 5:00 for the 1,600m. Here is Coach Mike Kerley talking about camp.
Finally, a funny post run video.
