It's just 100 days to your first important meet
Published June 4, 2026
I hope you enjoyed the free training you received in the past three days. I love geeking out on training before the season starts, and I hope you did, too. 😀
If you’re looking for information about tonight’s live class you’ll find that at the bottom of the email.
Quick question...
Will you have an important meet mid-September? Or will you have one the following week?
There are only 100 days until Saturday, September 12, 2026, and at that time of the year, you’ll want to have solid performances from your team.
And...
You want to be confident that they’ll run better and better each week from mid-September on.
100 days is a long time for kids to get fit, so long as they stay injury-free and have fun. But do you have a way to virtually ensure both of those things happen in the coming weeks?
Another question....
Can you set things up in early June so that you’re packing up the team tent at the last meet of the year, knowing your team ran to their potential? You want to leave the course knowing you did everything in your power to make 2026 the program’s best ever.
To do this, you’re going to need the following in your training...
- A progression of both workouts and post-run strength routines that will keep your kids injury-free
- Race pace workouts that will have your kids racing faster than last year on the same courses
- Trust that you’re following a training plan that will have your kids racing better and better as the year progresses
And to do all of that? You either need to do weeks of research online to figure out how to cobble together the best training plan for the coming months or…take a shortcut and let someone like me show you how.
That’s why I created the XC Training System: To give you the easiest path to a proven XC training plan that will allow you and your team to reach all of your goals this coming season without anyone on your team being sidelined by injuries.
The XC Training System has helped over 500 coaches get their kids to the starting line in October and November, ready to race to their potential. These coaches don’t leave the course on the season's final day with that dreaded feeling that things didn’t “click” at the end and that they could have done more for their kids.
The XC Training System includes...
- 24-week plans for every athlete on your team
- Post-run strength and mobility routines that will keep kids injury-free
- Priority email support for a year
- Five live classes where you can ask me questions and learn from other coaches
- All the videos and training documents available on both your computer and phone
But don’t take it from me, check out what Coach Kirby has to say about the XC Training System:
“I’ve coached for 25 years, and have tried to stay current on training and coaching methodology throughout my career.
I can confidently say the XCTS is the best value and input I've received in my coaching career and was effective both in terms of results and injury prevention.”
Here’s the important part for now:
The XC Training System program begins this Sunday, at 8:30 pm EDT
We’ll do our first XC Training System live class of 2026 on that day.
The live classes in the program are a great time to interact with other coaches, ask me questions, and get answers to any burning questions you’ve had about training your kids over the coming months.
And as a heads-up, after the class starts, you’ll no longer be able to get the three bonuses that I’m offering this week:
- I’ll ship you 10 copies of my book Consistency Is Key: 15 Ways to Unlock Your Potential as a High School Runner for free
- You’ll get my Complete High School Runner Course added to your library for free. I’ve yet to meet a coach who feels they’ve perfected the mental side of racing, which is why so many coaches swear by the tools this course teaches their team.
- You’ll get the Craft of Coaching course, which has the best videos from the Boulder Running Clinics and interviews with coaches and experts I don’t share anywhere else.
The book bundle sells for $165, the Complete High School Runner course sells for $85, and the Craft of Coaching course is worth $95.
So that’s $345 worth of bonuses only available this week when you enroll in the XC Training System.
“The XCTS has been a game changer for my program. It allows every athlete at any level to achieve their best and stay healthy.
Our results are some of the best we have seen in our program in 20 years.”

PS – If you’re wondering if the XC Training System is the real deal, here’s Coach Walker’s experience...
“The XCTS added an element of "armor" to our team.
While all of the post-run work took additional time and our average practice time increased, the athletes were more engaged and we had no injuries (except for what a couple boys got on their summer vacations).
Every single one of our athletes ran PRs, our top boy won at regionals and ran his race fast, faster, fastest just like we practiced.
The XCTS helped the teams build confidence in their abilities as well as speed, strength and mobility.
I coach at a smaller school and at first I felt the cost for the XCTS was higher than we could afford. Our budget is small and we fundraise for most of what we spend on our program. I have always believed the money was best spent directly on the kids.
If you're a new coach, this could save you hundreds of hours of stressing over whether you're implementing the right program for your runners.
If you're experienced, you can see the value in having a professional coach who has spent years coaching coaches and runners putting together a program specifically for multiple levels of high school athletes and you can integrate the best of what you do into this program to make your practices the best possible.
The program is well laid-out with easy to follow printable schedules.
Once I learned the program, it was easy to implement some of our favorite routes/games/activities into the scheduled runs so we could make the best of XCTS and the 10 years’ experience of coaching. (HINT: invest in late spring/early summer!! You'll want the time to watch all the videos and begin learning and implementing the new routines.)
We trained our captains on how to do the post-run work and gave them the handouts with QR codes provided in the XCTS and had them lead the new routines and demonstrate how to do the exercises that were new to the team.
If you're on the fence, just do it! Don't wait until summer's mostly over. Start your summer training off right away and build those runners you have into their best selves. Use the "down time" you have during summer training to teach new routines and think how this program can integrate into the best of what you already do as a coach.
This program can stand as it is, you don't need anything additional, but if you've got team favorite practices there's room in the program for you to adapt them to fit.
XCTS is a winning program for coaches who want the best for their athletes.” - Holly Walker
